Welcome
Welcome to my latest newsletter for Photomedia. Hopefully there will be something inspiring and of interest for you. You will see that I have been changing and updating parts of the site, so have a wander and see if you can see what’s new. By the way, do let me know of any happenings which may make useful subjects for photography or call if you want to talk over some ideas.
What's been happening?
Flaming June has passed and the long scorching summer is upon us. Well, I'm sure it is somewhere but it hasn't reached Royal Deeside yet, which has made photography challenging at times. Despite this, wildlife seems to have managed relatively unscathed. If you look at the new Wildlife Gallery you will see that some of our summer butterflies are around. Pearl Bordered Fritillaries made a fine display in June and whilst these summer insects are amongst our summer jewels other flying insects are not quite so neighbourly. You will see from the photo of the stag in velvet why Red deer stags 'head for the hills' in the summer. The woods are so full of irritating flies that the open hill is a much cooler and comfortable option.
New Portfolio Galleries
To give a broader view of some of the photography I have undertaken recently I have
extended the portfolio. You will see that there are now 6 galleries covering different topics. These are by no means the only areas I cover and so if your particular needs don’t seem to feature here then don’t despair, give me a call, it may be that I can help. If not, I have colleagues who may specialise in what you need and who will be able to help you. The background image for the gallery page is of Andrew Braidwood's 'Braemar Gallery'. It is a wonderful eclectic mix of art in all its forms. It is a wonderful place to visit and needs to be on your 'to do list' when you come to Braemar. www.braemargallery.co.uk
Photo-editing
I have undertaken a few interesting photo-editing projects recently which have made me realise how often people have photos which are special to them but need some tweaking to make them perfect! It may be a great photo of a wonderful occasion but is spoilt by that lamp-post growing out of the top of Aunt Bertha’s head or that family group which could be improved by removing that rather embarrassing boyfriend you had when you were sixteen. Whatever it may be, if it can be improved, maybe I can help!
Special Deeside Holidays ~ don't suffer from a Loss of Memories
Why not make those holiday memories special and capture some of the fun, activity or events of your holiday and have them made into a Holiday DVD. This can then be shared with family and friends when you get home or can be a great Christmas present for family later in the year.
Royal Deeside and The Cairngorms
Being based in Deeside there is no shortage of opportunity. If you are planning on visiting or doing business in Deeside a useful source of information of Businesses, Services ,
Accommodation and places to go and things to do is the Royal Deeside and theCairngorms website. This gives up to the minute information of what's happening in Deeside. Take a look.
